It was so spicy, but so delicious, that we scoffed it down while our eyes watered.

I made this recipe today and followed the recipe exactly with the exception of cutting the water back to 4 cups based on other comments. The flavor of the soup is great but mine is the color of black bean soup rather than the more attractive reddish brown color in your picture.
