My mom is an excellent cook. I made it with everything you did. Used red dal ( masoor)and green lentil.( walmart bought) added turnips and roasted cauliflower plus fresh tomatoes. adding parsley and spinach at the end. Nice recipe. it is just a variation of what I grew up on. It is a dal recipe.
